AFTER TORNADO UPDATE: THE TAILS ARE ALL WAGGING, ALL IS WELL

2017-08-09

After an eventful weather weekend and cleaning up this week, I would like to share our experience with the tornado that affected our community.

Both overnight staff members staying with the dogs contacted me immediately during and after the storm. They informed me that power was out at the daycare, but everyone was safe. One of the managers (Keli) and I arrived in minutes to help strategize and move the boarding dogs and their belongings at the daycare to the boarding building, where we still had power. Another staff member, Mike, came in to assess the storm damage and help stabilize the fence temporarily. We leash walked all of the dogs at 3:30 am and made sure they were settled in and comfortable. As soon as possible, I posted on Facebook that we were all safe because I knew our Facebook family would be concerned. Later that morning, our staff members worked hard to organize belongings, answer phone calls and contact worried owners about their dogs to let them know everyone was ok. I am grateful that so far, our fences appear to be the only thing damaged by the tornado and our fence company will be out tomorrow to start the repairs.

Folks, I would like you to know that the Dogville Team did an amazing job making sure your dogs were safe and cared for during and after the storm. No one panicked. The dogs were amazingly calm during the entire process, and everyone knew what to do. Situations such as these are why we have storm protocols and the reason we are there 24 hours a day.

I am so proud of everyone and so grateful today. Thank you for checking on us, for your offers to help and most of all, for trusting us with your furry family members.

Gratefully,

Delana
